Force feedback flight stick with throttle and pedals set. Seems like this will set the bar for an all-in-one kit that gets you the basics and a bit more.

Review on the Logitech G940

Where to buy it.

Saitek has a new one coming out called the X65. I haven't been a big fan of Saitek as far as enthusiast flight controllers go because I know to many people that have had to replace their X52's multiple times because it up and stopped working.

Thrustmaster also has a new Warthog A-10 themed flight stick and throttle HOTAS setup in the works. It looks interesting however if it's anything like the Cougar the cons about the Warthog will be expensive and plagued with mechanical issues. The pros if like the Cougar will be an excellent stick for programmability and feel.

I'll probably order a G940 sometime soon but I'll wait to see a few more reviews from other enthusiasts. Let someone else to spend the $$$ and if it's going to be a heartache than I can skip it.

Now if CH Products would just come out with a new set to compete with this I think I'd know which way I'd go with no hesitation.

First off, I'd say, don't get the 940.

I have it, and I think its crap for formation. Great for anything else. The setup itself is great and ergonomic. Theres a huge "free-zone" (ZERO tension, NOTHING) in the middle. Thats good if you have a surgeon's hand. Then huge tension starts picking up, and its "notchy." There are about 20 detents when the tension picks up, the reason its notchy. So you pull, hit a detent, have a 1/8 inch free zone, then another detent. Then the forcing motors sometimes pull back on you when your holding the stick in a pull. The roll tension is actually about 2x the pitch, so when doing a Diamond Roll for example, its tough to get started without over rolling. I ended up using my X52 stick with the G940 Throttle and Pedals.

Edit:

Also, the rotators on the throttle seem to get "confused" or "mixed up" with the throttle. If I move the wheels for example zoom, they keep zooming if I've moved the throttle in the last seconds.

Thank's for the feedback, that's the stuff I am looking for. The review that I linked above seemed too good to be true.

Sounds like maybe a good stick for other types of flying? Just not formation flying :(
